Sitzundjibers (a.k.a. “Sitz”) is a private social club for single professionals over 45 who are looking to get more out of life. We offer fun, friendship, and a calendar of events with a wide variety of activities ranging from hiking, biking, boating, and skiing to cultural events such as book and movie clubs, concerts, museum trips, and dances. Things are always happening. “Sitz” is an organization where you’ll make new friends, improve your social life, and expand your interests.

Sitzundjibers Social Club was formed in 1955 by a group of young, single, well-educated, hard-working and upwardly mobile professionals, led by Donald Sohn. They had found themselves lacking an active social life, as they witnessed more and more friends and classmates moving on to marriage and raising families. Over the years, the club has evolved into one for single (often divorced), professional men and women over 50, regardless of educational pedigree.

We welcome all prospective members regardless of gender, race or religion. Accordingly, the club does not reject or delay offers of membership to anyone because of the club's gender balance.

Sitzundjibers is a structured organization with officers, board of directors, committees (we hope you’ll join one), and is the parent to our separate Boston & the Burbs 50+ Meet-Up group. Participate in our events and you’ll make some new friends, improve your social life, expand your interests, and have a blast.
